Overbidding Activity Isn’t Calming Down

San Francisco home buyers are heading into the summer months still eager to generously—and in many cases, irrationally—throw money at sellers in order to land the home of their choice.

Single-family homes are frequently overbid the most by 20% or more, based on June sales so far. Here’s a look at the most egregious overbids for the month:

695 22nd Avenue / Central Richmond
List: $788,000 / Sale: $1,115,000 (41.5%+)

530 Gellert / Lake Shore
$1,450,000 / $1,888,888 (30%+)

115 Bella Vista Way / Miraloma Park
$1,295,000 / $1,805,000 (39%+)

249 Whitney / Glen Park
$1,449,000 / $1,910,000 (32%+)

523 Valley / Noe Valley
$1,695,000 / $2,150,000 (27%+)

2936 Steiner / Cow Hollow
$2,495,000 / $3,320,000 (33%)

The condo market is not as nuts. I was only able to find three major overbids worth noting:
254 Downey / Cole Valley
$1,329,000 / $1,775,000 (33.5%)

3625 16th St. / Duboce Triangle
$799,000 / $1,107,500 (38%)

2169 Folsom / Inner Mission
$989,000 / $1,376,000 (39%)
